Sharon Kay (Reynolds) Maxwell, 79, of Shenandoah, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, October 22, 2020 at her home following a brief illness.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Anna Miller officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing are strongly suggested. Memorials in Sharon's name are being directed to the family.
Sharon Kay (Reynolds) Maxwell, daughter of LaVerne Les and Gladys Ruth (Webb) Reynolds, was born on September 6, 1941 in Eugene, Oregon. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 1 month, 16 days.
At a young age, Sharon’s family moved from Oregon to Clarinda, Iowa. She attended and received her education in the Clarinda Community School District.
On November 9, 1961, Sharon was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Richard Maxwell at the Nazarene Church in Clarinda. Following their marriage, they made their home in Shenandoah. They were blessed with four children, Ruth, Ellis, Delilah and Sharon. She primarily worked as homemaker to Eugene and the children. Sharon did some waitressing before the kids where born. She enjoyed baking for her family, quilting and tending to her garden. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially all her grandchildren.
Preceding Sharon in death were her parents; stepfather, Pete Parrott; and daughter, Delilah Sands. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 59 years, Eugene Maxwell of Shenandoah, IA; three children, Ruth Maxwell of Villisca, IA, Ellis Maxwell and wife Veronica of Shenandoah, IA, and Sharon Hoyt of College Springs, IA; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
