Robert “Bob” Elvin Beach, Jr, 61, son of Robert Beach, Sr. and Loy (Ashbaugh) Beach, was born on December 1, 1959, in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on May 2, 2021, at his home in Coin, Iowa.
Bob graduated from Shenandoah High School, Class of 1978, and was active in FFA. After high school, Bob attended Iowa State University and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in Agricultural Sciences. After college, Bob returned home to the family farm in Shenandoah where he dedicated his life’s work to farming. Bob was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah.
Bob enjoyed skiing in Colorado on family ski trips growing up. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with his dogs. Bob’s favorite summer hobby was growing different varieties of tomatoes in his garden. He also enjoyed a good competitive game of Scrabble. Most of his time was spent managing the family farm operation and he loved researching all the latest innovations in agriculture. Kind and altruistic, Bob was always going out of his way to help others.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Leon and Elsie Beach, and Lester and Mildred Ashbaugh; his father, Robert Beach Sr.; his brothers, Richard Beach and John Beach; and his infant daughter, Adilynne.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Loy Beach; sister, Mary Ann Brannen and her husband Terry; nephew, Chris Beach and his wife Shana; niece, Carrie Kruse and her husband Tyler; nephew Tim Brannen and his wife Kerri; and other extended family and friends.
Memorials are being directed to the Davis-Rodgers-Shenandoah FFA.
