Robert Warren Irvin, son of Warren Delbert and Essie Ethel (Ecker) Irvin, was born on August 15, 1931 in Clarinda, Iowa. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah at the age of 88.
A celebration of life memorial service for Bob will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 10:30 am at Nishna Valley Funeral Home in Shenandoah with Phil Wing officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present (social distancing guidelines must be followed). Burial will take place in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Iowa. Memorials in Bob's name are being directed to the Farragut Methodist Church or Farragut Fire & Rescue.
Raised on a farm near Blanchard, Iowa, Bob attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Blanchard High School with the Class of 1949.
On January 6, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Campbell. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Rebecca, Julie and Pamela.
On February 26, 1952, Bob was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served nearly two years stationed in Germany, eventually being honorably discharged having attained the rank of Corporal on February 9, 1954.
Following his discharge from the military, Bob returned home and he and Mary Ann moved into Blanchard. He owned and operated Irvin’s Conoco Service Station and Tank Wagon business in Blanchard until retiring in 2006. They moved to Farragut, Iowa in 2010.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents; and a sister, Betty Lane. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 68 years, Mary Ann Irvin of Farragut, IA; three daughters, Becky Ripley of Nebraska City, NE, Julie Halsey and husband Dave of Farragut, IA and Pam Nelson and husband Joe of Blanchard, IA; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and another on the way!; sister, Ruby Lane of Essex, IA; many loving nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
