Obituary

A celebration of life memorial gathering/visitation for Michael Alan Davis will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.  Memorials in Mike's name are being directed to the family for later designation.

Michael Alan Davis, son of James Lee and Mary Ann (Jackson) Davis, was born on May 31, 1963, in Shenandoah, Iowa.  He entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Shenandoah Medical Center E R at the age of 58 years, 3 months, 15 days.

All of Mike’s life was spent in Shenandoah.  He attended the Shenandoah Community Schools, graduating from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1981.  In his younger years, he enjoyed playing little league baseball and playing high school football for the Mustangs. 

Following high school, Mike worked for Hy-Vee for a few years before purchasing the Peppermint Lounge which he owned and operated.  He later went to work at the Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah where he worked for nearly 25 years until they downsized.  After Eaton’s, Mike attended Iowa Western Community College and became a counselor at Clarinda Academy until their closing.  He was a member of and enjoyed attending Cornerstone Fellowship in Shenandoah.  He enjoyed mentoring kids through Cornerstone Church and M.A.Y. Mentoring.  Another of his favorites was frisbee golf.

Preceding Mike in death were his mother, Mary Ann Davis; and two brothers, William Donald Jackson and Larry Eugene Davis.  Left to cherish his memory are his father, James Lee Davis of Shenandoah; three siblings, Kevin Lee Davis of Shenandoah, Kathy E Paez of Shenandoah and James Edward Davis of Oakland, IA; nieces and nephews, Amy Vaccaro, Anthony Davis, Mike Davis, J P Davis, Mike Davis, Sherri Davis, Jayson Davis, Donald Archer, Ricky Paez and Andrew Paez; mentee, Zack Miller of Shenandoah; other relatives; and a host of friends.
