Jimmy P. McCoy, 78, of Norman, Oklahoma entered into eternal rest at Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa on Saturday, August 7, 2021.  Military services for Jimmy will be held at a later date at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Son, brother, husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.  Jimmy Paul McCoy was born on July 10th 1943, to Vera and Vollie McCoy in Arkansas where he lived until joining the U.S. Air Force.  Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country in the Air Force for twenty six years and retired as a Master Sergeant.

After retirement from the Air Force, Jim worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years until he had to medically retire.

Jim had a big heart and was a very handy man.  Jim had a variety of talents and could do most anything he set his mind to, from baking, frosting, and decorating a cake from scratch to sewing a cheerleading uniform for his daughters, repairing their bicycles, building a pigeon hutch, fixing things around the house to working on the family car.

Jim was a fighter, and survived eight heart attacks, four different cancers, including the removal of one lung and five strokes.

Jim passed away at the age of seventy-eight on August 7th, 2021.  He was well loved and will be sorely missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jessie, and his son Christopher. Valary his wife of thirty-eight years, she passed on February 13th, 2021, and his first wife Rosemary.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Cheri (Tim) McClane, 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  Shela (Kathlene) Sawyer, son Mason, Amanda (Dustin) Adkins, daughters, Nevaeh, Aleesia, Christopher (Tina) Adkins, sons Christopher and Kayden, daughter Kindle.  Grandson Patrick McClane, granddaughters, Jolene McClane and Tia McClane.  Daughter Cassandra (Kyle) Christiansen, daughters Kira, Kate, and Shelly (Andrew) Warner.  Daughter Arianna McCoy.  Daughter Tiffany Wilkerson, grandsons Austin and Kaidyn. Daughter Tonja McCoy.
