Larry Lee Dumler, son of Jacob and Hanna (Kies) Dumler, was born on August 6, 1951 at Red Oak, Iowa. He entered into rest on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at CHI Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa following a brief illness at the age of 67 years, 2 months, 12 days.
His early life was spent growing up in Red Oak, where he attended the Red Oak Community Schools. On April 1, 1972, Larry was united in marriage to Vera Irene Grubb in Shenandoah. Following their marriage they made their home in Shenandoah, where they raised their four children, Derek, Dustin, A J and Ashley.
Working as an over-the-road truck driver most of his life, Larry was able to travel throughout most of the Midwest states. He began working for Earl May Seed & Nursery (around 20 years) and last worked for Sisbro and Heartland Express Trucking Companies. He was forced to retire several years ago due to health reasons.
Some of the things Larry enjoyed were going to the car races at Corning, fishing and camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents and grandparents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 46 years, Vera Irene Dumler of Shenandoah; their four children, Derek Dumler, Dustin Dumler and wife Sherri, A J (Anthony) Dumler and wife Lora and Ashley Dumler and significant other, Tommy Berrier, all of Shenandoah; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life memorial service was held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Shenandoah.
