Dustin Allen Butters was born on March 11, 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska to Allen Theodore and Cleo Ann (Van Lanningham) Butters. He peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday evening, September 19, 2018 in the loving arms of his wife, Ashley, at their home in Farragut, Iowa at the age of 32 years, 7 months, 8 days.
Early in his life the family lived in Rolfe, Iowa until Dustin was 10 years old. They then moved to Opp, Alabama. Dustin received his education in the Opp Community Schools.
At the age of 16, Dustin realized a dream of becoming a semi-pro wrestler. He became known in the wrestling world as Dustin Michaels. He traveled from coast to coast living out his dream and was crowned the heavyweight champion.
During his time on the wrestling circuit on one fortuitous November night in 2005, he met the love of his life, Ashley White. On February 11, 2006, Dustin was united in marriage to Ashley in Opp, Alabama. To this union five sons were born, Aiden, Ethan, Gavin, Sabastian and Aaron Butters.
Dustin continued to wrestle for a short time after marrying Ashley, but his focus soon changed to being the best father and husband he could be. As a family, they lived for a short time in North Dakota before settling in southwest Iowa. They lived in Shenandoah for a few years and last resided in Farragut. Dustin worked for McDonald's in Shenandoah and then became an associate at Wal-Mart where he was well loved and respected by his co-workers on the cap 3 team. He was first diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
Always a family man, Dustin loved to spend time with Ashley and his boys. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and racing on TV and collected wrestling and racing memorabilia. Fishing and listening to music brought great enjoyment also. He played guitar and drums in his spare time. Please enjoy the music today in his honor. He was a football fan and was proud of the fact that he was a quarterback in high school.
Preceding Dustin in death were his father and infant son, Aaron Butters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ashley Butters and their four sons, Aiden, Ethan, Gavin and Sebastin; his mother, Cleo Butters of Shenandoah; sister, Misty Johnson and husband Michael of Farragut; brother, Curtis Eshelman of Omaha, NE; seven other brothers; two more sisters; nephews, Johnathan Johnson and Donnie Morrison of Farragut and Jake Eshelman of Omaha; two nieces, Rumer Eshelman of Omaha and Jessica Johnson of Farragut; special cousins, Mark and Michael Butters of Opp, AL; other relatives and many friends.
