Burial will be in the Farragut Cemetery. A memorial is being established. Memorials can be directed to the Faye W. Bredensteiner Memorial Fund.

Faye W. (Trullinger) Bredensteiner, daughter of Isaac and Dorris Elizabeth (Jordan) Trullinger, was born on May 23, 1929 at home in Farragut, Iowa. She entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Easter morning, Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Lenox Care Center in Lenox, Iowa at the age of 87 years, 10 months, 25 days.

Growing up, Faye attended the Farragut Community Schools, graduating from Farragut High School with the Class of 1946.

On July 6, 1947, Faye was united in marriage to James Henry Andrew Bredensteiner at Pender, Nebraska. Faye and Jim farmed for the first 10 years of their marriage before moving to Farragut in 1957. Faye then became a homemaker to Jim and the kids. She and Jim were blessed with three children, Terry Sue, who died in infancy, Bruce James and Janet Lynne.

When the kids were older, Faye began working outside the home at Roberts Grocery in Farragut. Faye later took a job at the Farragut Post Office, starting as postal clerk and eventually taking over for Ruby Holman, as Postmaster. After retiring, Faye kept busy as a caregiver to her mom and to Jim. In 2009, Faye had a stroke that took away her ability to use the left side of her body but didn’t weaken her spirit and mind. Shortly after, both she and Jim moved to Corning Nursing and Rehab. After Jim passed away in 2012 after 65 years of marriage Faye later moved to the Lenox Care Center to be closer to Janet and the family.

An enthusiastic supporter of her hometown of Farragut, Faye belonged to many Farragut groups and organizations over the years. She was an active member of Farragut Congregational UCC Church. Faye will be remembered as a nurturer of people, plants and pets. She was a wonderful cook and if you were a guest of Faye’s, you never left hungry. With her inviting personality, you always felt welcome in her home. Faye worshiped her grand and great grandchildren, she thought they walked on water. She instilled in them the knowledge that it is not what you do or have – it is the time and love you give.

Preceding Faye in death were her parents; her in-laws, Carl and Lizzie Neve; brothers, Jerry Trullinger and Leonard Trullinger; her husband, Jim; infant daughter, Terry Sue (1948); and son, Bruce James Bredensteiner (2001). Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janet Lynne Owen and her husband Jeffrey of Lenox, IA; five grandchildren, Jodie Thompson and husband Randy of Ozark, AR, Robbie Bredensteiner and wife Colleen of Irvine, CA, Scott Owen of Villisca, IA, Dustin Owen and wife Brooke of Lenox, IA and Kimberly Morris and husband Ryan of Lenox, IA; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice Trullinger and Loretta Trullinger; other relatives and many friends.
