On February 12, 1931 Erwin was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, north of Clarinda, Iowa. Erwin’s mother, Frieda was from a family farm near Craig, Missouri. The Krull’s purchased and moved to the family farm near Shenandoah in 1935. On June 13, 1943 Erwin was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah.
