Bettie Louise Dobbs, daughter of Lewis and Eva Elizabeth (Morris) Collins, was born the eleventh child of twelve on January 19, 1942 at home in rural Howell County, Missouri. She entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2017 at George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 1 month, 25 days.

Growing up in south central Missouri, Bettie attended country school through 8th grade. She graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1960. On September 27, 1960, Bettie was united in marriage to Lester Dwain Dobbs at West Plains, Missouri. To this union was born two children, Sherman LeRoy and Jennifer JoAnna.

In 2015, Bettie was honored as the State 2014 TOPS Queen, having lost 103 pounds and eventually losing a total of 140. Church and God were a big part of her life.
